Environmental rules

Canada is strict on CO₂ emissions and has progressive policies for private aviation. Major airports may apply landing fees based on noise levels and fuel burn. Operators are encouraged to participate in voluntary carbon offset programs.

Travelling with pets

– Pets must have proof of rabies vaccination, microchip is strongly recommended – An import permit is not required for domestic dogs and cats, but travelers must bring a valid veterinary certificate – Exotic animals are heavily restricted – Most airports have pet relief areas and Canada is generally very pet-friendly.

Entry and visas

ETA required for air arrivals (US exempt). No visa for stays under 180 days for most Western countries.

Arrival and departure

Most travelers from the US, UK, EU, Australia, and Latin America can enter without a visa, but must apply for an eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) before boarding a flight. Travelers arriving by land or sea do not need an eTA.
