Pet Travel Conditions

Pets must have import permit, microchip, health certificate, and rabies vaccine. Subject to 10 day quarantine upon arrival at government-approved facility. Very few resorts allow pets, travel with animals requires very high level coordination. Entry only through Malé (VRMM) and with pre-authorization from the Ministry of Agriculture.

Travel Restrictions

Visa free for 30 days for most nationalities including US, UK, EU, LATAM, Australia. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months. Travelers must present proof of accommodation and return ticket.

Entry and Exit Requirements

Valid passport + proof of resort booking and onward travel. Health declaration form to be filled online pre-arrival. Flight handling coordination required at least 72h before landing. No customs duties on personal items under $600.

Approx. 10–12 hours, typically via Dubai, Doha, or Istanbul.

Maldives welcomes private aviation with special procedures: Ultra Long Range Jets (e.g. Global 7500, Gulfstream G700) typically land in Velana Intl (VRMM). No direct private flights allowed to resort islands, transfers are done by VIP seaplane or yacht Main entry: Malé – Velana International Airport (VRMM), with FBO service, fast track customs, and helicopter/seaplane coordination to private islands.
