Environmental rules

The Netherlands is a leader in sustainable aviation: SAF use is encouraged, carbon offsetting supported. Noise restrictions strictly enforced near residential and heritage zones. Amsterdam Schiphol has night curfews and capacity controls for private aircraft.

Travelling with pets

EU rules apply: microchip, valid rabies vaccine, EU pet passport or health certificate. Entry via approved airports only (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Eindhoven). No quarantine for compliant pets. Pet friendly boutique hotels and luxury houseboats are widely available, especially in Amsterdam and the countryside.

Entry and visas

Schengen country. Visa free entry for up to 90 days for travelers from US, UK, EU, Canada, LATAM, Australia. Passport must be valid at least 3 months beyond stay.

Arrival and departure

Valid passport + Schengen visa if needed. Advance flight plan + slot approval required. Customs checks for valuables or over €10,000 in cash. VIP handling highly recommended during high season and major events.

The Netherlands has top-tier private aviation services, especially around Amsterdam and Rotterdam: Ultra Long Range Jets (e.g. Global 7500, Falcon 8X) for transatlantic access.
