Environmental rules

Switzerland has strict noise and emissions regulations. Incentives for operators using SAF or carbon offsets. Night flying restrictions apply at most airports. Sensitive alpine areas may have overflight restrictions.

Travelling with pets

EU style rules: microchip, rabies vaccine, health certificate or pet passport. Dogs require tapeworm treatment before arrival . No quarantine for compliant pets. Most luxury ski hotels, lake villas, and countryside retreats are pet-friendly on request.

Entry and visas

Schengen member. Visa free for up to 90 days for citizens of the US, UK, EU, Canada, Australia, LATAM. Passport must be valid 3 months beyond intended stay.

Arrival and departure

Valid passport + Schengen visa if needed. Customs checks for valuables (especially watches or jewelry). Declaration required for cash over €10,000. Advance handling required during high season and major events.

Approx. 1–2.5 hours from London, Paris, Milan, or Frankfurt.
